Quiet Afternoon At Hen And Chicken Bay

Hadn't heard much from the Parramatta river so I thought I'd give it a go today.

Fished the high tide at Hen and Chicken bay. As expected there were multitudes of fishos out there enjoying the barmy summer weather. First casts right outside my car resulted in a couple of hits straight away but I missed them in my sun dazed state. After taking a little time to get into the swing of things I managed to land this little guy:

Put him back after a quick pic. Things then went a little quiet but I had a chat to a guy who was cleaning a couple of decent sized bream caught on bait. He told me of a couple of secret spots to get away from the rat race. Might try them sometime.

Later on a phone call from one of my mates put me in a bit of an awkward situation. My lure was out just sitting there in the water when, phone in one hand, rod in the other, something started to rip braid off my spool. Apologised to my mate, put the phone down but the fish was long gone by that time. Felt like a nice bream from the 'fight'. Ah well, my fault for bringing the phone with me! :1badmood:

A few more casts, one more little flatty then time to go home.

Not much to write home about but a nice afternoon anyway.

Nice lil flatty there ,pity the bigger ones didn't play :biggrin2: .

Lost my share of fish due to mobile phone's, I stand by the theory of the lookout fish near the boat, going "now fred, now he's on the phone!" :074:

always good to have a lil flick though

cheers

G'day mate,

Nice little flatty! :biggrin2:

I have fished that exact same spot where you are from the shore many times for good results. Plenty of bream over the flats there as well as the flatties. It's a nice little spot to fish isn't it? :biggrin2:

I'll be in and around that area in my tinnie this Saturday with my son Andy so I'm hoping for a few myself!

Cheers,

David.
