savo3
Caught two of these funny small trout at Tumut over the easter holidays. After googling looks like a Golden Trout. They were rising all over the place. Has anyone else caught these?
Squ!rt
Looks like a golden trout to me, classified more of a rainbow trout than a brown, have caught rainbow and brown in the Gilmore that flows into tumut river, nice catch on lure, i have only ever caught trout on grasshoppers in the snowy region. dirvin21
it's a rainbow trout.... common colour pattern in smaller specimens (I've caught loads with the same colouration), confirmed 100% by the spots on the tail which rainbows are only trout in Australia with spots on the tail
Volitan
Yep, it’s a rainbow. Those markings on the side are called ‘parr markings’ and are only found in small fish. They loose the parr marks when they get older.
JA1990
Redband trout. They are sub breed of rainbow trout. Not hybryid not juvenile just a genetic pigmentation. Also there are rainbow trout with out colour.

Big Ears
A juvenile Rainbow - here's one I caught and released in the Bielsdown River (Dorrigo) last month. The Bielsdown is only stocked with Rainbows.
