SiNH
Hi, Silly question on my part. Is the Iron Cove Bridge the old name for what is now known as Anzac Bridge? Is this a good place to fish for bream and flatties on soft plastics land based? or do you need a boat? Where do you actually park your car? I work in Ultimo and would love to head off there after work for a fish but dont know the area that well. Can you please be more specific on where to park? name of a road or park/reserve name? You help is much appreciated.
SiNH
Just found out via the RTA site that these two bridges are different. Evenso can you tell me the streets that you can park on? I can punch this onto my Navman and it can take me there. Very keen on visiting after work.
crystalliser
Hi there, to the site! It's been ages since I've fished before under IC bridge but was using bait at that time i recalled. For parking, I reckon there are heaps of area to park if you fished the south side of the bridge and the nearest would be just next to the King George Park where you'll notice it's a footy field. The arrow marks the nearest parking spot from what I can recall. The big red circle could be fished where you'll noticed boats in front of you. I've never tried that area though. Walk along the banks till you reach below the bridge and I'm sure you can cast towards the nearest pylon. You'll come across a "submarine cable" sign where there is very limited area for u to stand on. My mate caught a 36cm bream before but that was ages ago so I can't help u much on the fishing capabilities there. Hope these helps. SiNH
Thank you so much on the info and the welcome. I have yet to catch anything on my soft plastics. I spent about $70 on plastics and jigheads and am yet to catch anything. I was starting to think that you need a boat to catch anything on plastics. It wasnt until I stumbled onto this site that I read all these incredible stories from landbased casting. I will try your location and the first time I catch anything of legal size I will report back.
