Central Coast Fisherman
Has anyone started catching any summer pelagics (kings, bonnies, etc) around Sydney or the Central Coast yet? I haven’t encountered any yet fishing the rocks at Terrigal and Avoca except for my son catching a small king earlier this week using a 5 inch jerk shad. I caught a few yakkas this week from the rocks so the bait appears to be turning back up. Surely they should start turning up any day now. I’m over catching winter salmon, snapper and trevally. Cheers, Phil
Scratchie
I’m a bit further north but we encountered some rat kings earlier this week. Water temp was 19.6 deg so warming up! A few bonito are about too! Not in numbers yet though! cheers scratchie!!!
Berleyguts
I got a solid bonito trolling Little Island off Port Stephens on Monday. Water temp for me was only 17.8°. They should appear in numbers further south soon. I reckon they’re always about, just more active when it’s warmer. I’m looking forward to the FAD going in! 😎 A Sydney Sportfishing charter guide I follow is getting plenty of kings for his clients. He says they’re under the salmon. 😉
