Sydney Kings (rats) day after Boxing Day 🙂

Was very sceptical about how the harbour would fish day after the Sydney to Hobart harbour circus, but decided to go anyway.
it was a bit sloppy and windy, but I was chasing 12 more kings to get my 500 target for 2019 -  I’m glad I did. “Steve” and I boated 13 between us, (all rats, but were fishing light gear - 15lb after the first few were boated). All on live squid, which were pretty easy to get. Yakkas, were another story, tried all the usual spots and only got a few in the livie tank. We got a triple hookup and boated All three - and released of course.

None to take home as biggest was 63, but a good quick session and Kingies are tough fish, recover well and swim away hard - a joy to see.

I am new to this site & keen but not a great in the harbour fisho !

Well done we also were out, I would be stoked with that effort,

We had plenty of squid & Yakkas in the boat (live) but unfortunately my knowledge of the harbour let me down again! not a king in the boat. not for lack of trying, we have been out most days & have not been very successful.

oh well as always looking forward to tomorrow.

@Adzyideal I'm not a Sydney local and if you try sending some PM's to those posting fish in Sydney I reckon you'll get some tips for areas to get started. I can see the first photo here doesn't have any land in the background so perhaps try around the heads and keep an eye on other fishing boats and if they're hooking up when you head out.. these tips have worked for me in the past.

Also, good work on the squid and yakkas, half the battle knowing where to get these quickly!
