Guest fishrunner
Went up to newcastle to see the family . Whilst up there tried to get a bit of fishing in. 1st up was a boat fish with dad on monday, thought I get him some fish, but alas it wasn't so. Went out to get livies but struggled at the adolf, then thought maybe behind Bigben, was quiet out there as well. Plenty of muton birds sittin in the trail . After feeding the birds and since the wind was howling off shore decided a change of plan was req'd. So upriver we went tryin for a flathead, only 1 found (round 45cm), which was dinner for dad. Otherwise pretty quiet, very good time was had though so was well worth it. Then back at the house at 2pm washing the boat, a mate calls and off to stockton beach for an afternoon/evening fish with Daniel and Micheal. I got the 1st 2 sambo's on a flick stick with 8lb braid . Were huge sambos and put up a great fight Next one took heaps of line and had to take the photo myself Things were lookin good for a poss jew later, but as the sun went down 2 more sambos to amognst us, that was all she wrote , The other various jew baits didn't turn a reel, till 10 pm when we called it a day. The tuesday came and down to Swansea for a kayak fish, had never tried to fish 2 up on the sevlor before all was going well but quiet on the fishing front with 1 crazy jumping stingray and 2 flatties. pic of the sevlor,- went well but needed a touch more air Hope you all had a bit more action. cheers

Guest madsmc
There's certainly nothing wrong with beach fishing, especially at Stockton. Top report fishrunner. I was hoping to get into a few sambo's up there the weekend before last, but they didn't want anything to do with us. Seemed they liked the crews on either side of us more. A mate of mine ended up with a good tailor though. Looks like a trip over there might be part of this weekends plans. Fishrunner, are your mates Dan and Michael FishRaider members? If not, let them know about the site. It would be great to have a few more Raiders around the Newy area, and possibly a Newy social day. Do you get the opportunity to get up here much mate? Top sambo's and a good report. Wish the outside trip had gone better for you and the old man, but as they say, that's fishing. Shane
