After 40 years of boating - CARRY SPARES

1. Forget to have a spare and left the key at home

2. Lost or forgot the winch handle and didn’t have a Spare.

3. Forgot to put the bungs in - or worse left them at home and didn’t have a spare.

4. No spare tire and got a flat

5. Winch strap broke and no Spare

6. Forgot to secure the “tie downs”

7. Didn’t check the fuel and no spare container on board.

MORAL : Check your gear the night before and CARRY SPARES.

Done a few of those over the years

saw one guy drive 61/2 hours only to realise the keys were left on the kitchen table drove half way back to meet up with the half & then drive all the way back again

same venue lake jyndabine another bloke in his hast left all his gear behind rather than turning back pulled up at a tackle store on the other side of Cooma & spent $500 odd dollars on rods reels & lures etc 😡 ouch

I carry some spares. Batteries, wheel bearings, car and trailer Tyre etc. but not everything mainly due to cost, spare space, weight and the effort of loading/maintaining lots of stuff.

I live 5 minutes from the ramp. I keep a spare bung in the car and a spare r clip for the trailer. I carry more fishing gear in the boat than I’m ever likely to need... I still usually forget something!🤷‍♂️😂
