Hi all, went out in the moderate winds in hope of finding bust-ups - found some in the open areas adjacent to fort Denison, couldn't hook up though. Bust-ups were small, so moved on. Checked lavender bay and Walsh bay, no bust-ups there either, not even under the bridge as they usually are. Lots of maritime and the odd police boat around issuing warnings/fines for those not "transiting" in the channel between fort Denison and goat island.

Headed back to the heads - came across a few bust ups near North head (inside) , managed to land a decent tailor and salmon but then got inspected by a police boat whilst landing the salmon and precious bust up moments later, the police left and in their wake....no more bust ups 😭. What did arrive though was an increase in winds - too tough to stick around so headed back.

Good thing about the poor weather - was quick and easy to launch and retrieve at the boat ramp 😆

Whilst packing up, another fisho commented on the poor results today especially given the monsters (kings) outside the opera house all week - does anyone know about that?

Still great being on the water though!

EDIT: lure that did the damage: PowerBait Minnow 3" in green watermelon on a 1/4oz jig head, both slow jigging in mid water and straight into the chaos :)

Hey mate - we had almost the exactly the same experience on Sunday. @REELCRAZY , my 6 year old and I went out and chased schools around north head. My 6 year old Landed a couple of nice salmon but we were looking for the hallowed metreys...... Downrigged around goat island, Lavendar Bay and surrounds. Marked what looked to be kings but no takers. Hit the drums and the markers but didn't find them in the end. Annoying giving all the great reports of Opera House kingies.

Agreed, ramp was awesome!

Cheers

D

NB - also didnt find any kings at Longie yesterday, however, there were seals taking livies and also a couple of glorious humpbacks......
