Solar charger

For those that have set up a solar trickle charger on their boat just wondering what panel and controller you have used please.

Just get a 10W panel to trickle charge, no regulator required with such a small panel.

What will a 10W panel achieve?

It will keep the battery topped up when not in use and prevent it from self discharging.

As always there is lots of research to be done  and always different opinions but basically all I want to do is trickle charge when the boat is not being used for weeks at a time rather than get the charger out the day before using the boat to bring the batteries up to full charge.

HI Check out Jaycar electronics for a 10W solar panel and charging regulator as this is what I have been using for some time to charge and top up the boat battery as the panel is on the garage roof 24/7 .

Should have realised what you were referring to in the OP when you said "trickle"
