Went for a lockdown fish this afternoon and the whiting came to the party.

Was getting a fish every cast, kept 6 all over 40cm, threw back 15 to 20 that were all well over legal size.

My location is the giveaway, it was opened up to the sea yesterday with a big flood pouring out the opening.

Great to see that the fish came to you, seeing as you can’t really go anywhere else :( hope all is well there.

I can’t wait till I can get back up that way when things settle down a little.

Lockdown has it positives in that there are very few people fishing. The Lake seems to be fishing really well at the moment, which is great considering we can't go anywhere.

Great bag of whiting. So all the fish have moved south. I have tried Terrigal beach the last 2 weeks and not a sign of whiting using live nippers. Very strange.

Great bag of top eating fish and good little fighters.

have you ever tried flicking surface poppers for them?

Tried poppers but never had any luck, need to do some more work with them.

1.1kg of fillets, absolutely stocked.

At the going rate at my local fisho, that’s about $50 worth of fish.

A halfway decent restaurant could do 6 portions at $30 a plate, easy peasy.

Top work, even from a beancounter’s perspective!
