Green Hornet
I reckon it's an each way bet. In The Bay you'll find plenty of flathead, but sometimes all you're going to get are spikies. The bonus for the kids is you may come across a pod of playful dolphins. You get a better size run of duskies in The Basin, but after the hammering they cop over the Christmas holidays they can be hard to find and a lot of guys struggle. Keep in mind if/when the wind comes up your Bay trip is over, whereas The Basin always has a protected shoreline somewhere. 2
noelm
The Bay also has lots of great deserted beaches to pull up on out of the wind, has lots of Squid in the Ribbon Weed just off most beaches, but in general, fishing is pretty hard going, remember to also check for no fishing zones. Depending on the expected weather, I would make my decision "on the day"
