Raider dlvbw (Duncan) and buddy, Peter and I have contracted a bad case of “Blue Spot-flathead syndrome”, the cure is quick and simple - get outside on a perfect day with no swell and flat seas, with crystal blue water and a tank full of livies.
We had a great day with 16 fish kept and a bucket load released. Platycephalus’ species (flathead),  have to be one of the most sustainable and fast growing species available to the average fisho’ and taste great to boot and fillets currently selling for up to $69 a Kg - just adds to the enjoyment of consumption.

I have been involved with DPI Kingfish research, “fin clipping” and recording data for fisheries. Last year DPI released several thousand fingerlings in Sydney Harbour and their growth rates and DNA is being tracked. Today we caught, clipped, recorded and released 9 Kingies - hopefully some of these were from the released batch.

We also bagged 2 nice green eyes and a healthy Trevally - God continues to be good.

Looking forward to heading out off shore tomorrow with 2 Raider legends - Zoran and Dieter chasing big fish in deep water in Zoran’s boat - Can’t wait.

Had me going there Bob. Thought the magnificent Flattie had developed some sort of horrid disease (LOL). Good luck with the trip to the deep, no doubt you will all do well. Cheers, bn
