Isaac Ct
Hi raiders, I am new to Fishraider and would like some help on finding some live bait in the hacking. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers. Isaac
kingie chaser
Welcome to the forum. What specific baits are you referring to as this will determine where you go & at what time. But also using the search tab on here could always help you- Also from an article I found on the WWW doing a quick google search- In Port Hacking the prime bait areas for gar, poddies, yellowtail, pike, squid and pink nippers include Hungry Point, Gunnamatta Bay swing moorings, Cabbage Tree Point, Burraneer Point, Dolans Bay Marina, The Ballast Heap, Costens Point, Attwells Boat Shed, Gooseberry Bay, Scotts Reef, South West Arm, North West Arm, Lilli Pilli, Deer Park, Willarong Point, Yowie Bay Marina, Mansion Point, Grays Point and Audley Weir. Shore-based anglers can include Darook Park, Gunnamatta Bay baths, Tonkin Park boat ramp, Cabbage Tree Point, Hungry Point, Maianbar, The Basin, boat ramps at Port Hacking and Wonga Road, the sandstone wall in Gooseberry Bay, baths at Lilli Pilli and Gymea Bay and at Grahams Point. campr
Hi Issac. I fish the Hacking a fair bit and bait can sometimes be tough. When fishing comps I get my limit of poddies 2 weeks before as a start/backup and go for yakkas and nippers the day before. What baits are you looking for and are you boat or land based? campr
Wharf at Wonga rd Yowie bay. Anchor close to Bundeena wharf and burly to draw them out from wharf. Be prepared to move if ferry comes. Close to nudist beach inside of Jibbon pt. Close to shark island. Don't discount any caught trumpeter as they are a good and hardy livebait for ph and I caught my equal 2nd pb flatty of 97cm on one.
