do u still catch kings at kissing point? i wonder if kings go that far in tho

cant find what rms depth charts are, do u have a link?

Doubt you would find many kings that far up, but I know someone who has claimed to have seen them at Putney. I would say it would be a rarity though. Jewies on the other hand are more of a possibility.

Hers my take guys, I’m no kingfish expert but I’ve done a couple of years chasing them off the rocks and wharfs, and what I personaly found is if they are snooping around your bait and swimming away, there’s something wrong with it, either your hook is to heavy and it’s sinking to fast OR they can see the line, so if you lighten the hook gauge or lighten the tracer/leader it charges the outcome to a TAKE, but then comes the issue of landing it’

Good luck and I hope this helps’

i find that when the kings are finicky for the lures and deadbait, a livie of any sort should get a hit. i once dropped a live poddie after it spiked me and he got smashed by a king as soon as he hit the water... after getting no hits on anything with hooks all day. i threw in a poddie with a hook in its back after, and the kings showed little interest. i once saw them hitting bread chunks in a burley trail, but ate nothing connected to line or hooks. at the time i was using 30lb fluro, but even going down to 8lb on my light rod couldnt entice a bite from any kings, and i wasnt keen to livebait on a 2000 reel 😅

Last I saw them they were at Pulpit Point. I saw them there a couple of times, but haven't seen them there since. You can also find evidence of them (on this site and otherwise) having been around Chiswick/Gladesville. And then as previously mentioned, Iron Cove. Going on fishing reports in these areas, it's probably more than an one-off occurrence.

I'd say just get out there and give it a go. I would suggest having a secondary target (bream, flathead, etc) as well because you need something to do while waiting for them to turn up.

I don't fish often east of the bridge, so I'd defer to other reports/experts on this forum.
