An unusual find

Caught this flathead a few weeks ago. Found this bait hook that had migrated down its body nearly to the first fin.
Must have been there quite a while as the hook was completely rusty and as you can see the barb was gone.

Funny you mention that, I caught a flattie yesterday and it was 36cm so I kept it but used it for bait and got nothing on it. It had a pork rib bone in its stomach!

I've caught bream with hooks down their mouths and flathead too. I generally cut the hook down to the bend so that its less of a nuisance for them if possible, poor buggers..
