slothparade Posted October 1, 2021 Share Posted October 1, 2021 Launched the kayaks at about 9 am then headed off to our some mangroves which we had sucess in. Looked for crabs and ate while waiting for tide change, once the tide change we were swarmed by rays, had 3 at our feet then mates kayak sunk cause he forgot his bungs, ended up using his spare pants to block the hole. Heapes of good size mullet everywhere, casted soft plastics and hard bodies on the weed beds with little sucess, then had my softplastic bitten in half. once the storm started pulled into our creek in the mangroves where we found a school of bream (all good size) were. unfortunately spooked them when i tried to get my lunch and slipped, the banks are steep and the water in the creeks are deep. then after the storm we moved onto another little sheltered area and went down my favorite little creek, saw another bunch of rays and while I was trawling my sugar flider hard bodie got a nice flatty, probs pushing the 60cm, got it up to the side of the kayak then it snapped the 10 lbs leader. made for an enjoyable day and finally liffted my curse of not being able to get a flatty 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
