Clifton gardens Drummer?

Hi guys,

So was exploring some bush tracks around clifton gardens with 2 rods in tow. Found one of spots that i saw japanese guys shore jigging from videos and decideded to flick some plastics. I saw something akin to ludderick or drummer near the rocks but cannot be certain what they were. But after about 20 odd casts something took my soft plastic and ran it right against the rocks leaving me guessing what they were.

Any chance it was actually a drummer? it certainly was not a kingfish or perlagics on the way it fought.

There are heaps of small Black Drummer (Rock Blackfish) along with Silver Drummer, Luderick and Surgeons along the headland.

It is the time of year when large Black Drummer ('Pig's' as they're known by most rock fishers) congregate to spawn along the ocean front (usually October is the best month for finding the big ones in number) and they feed aggressively during this time. The normal method of 'attack' is to grab the bait and run, when pressure is applied they often make straight for caves/crevices etc.

Possibly a surgeonfish they are around there and go straight for structure I've hooked a lot fishing for luderick usually doesn't end well
