Ces4
Hey guys, I'm sure this has been asked before but I've spent an hour death scrolling now (good info though), so I'm hoping it might not have been asked recently. I'm looking for advice about an entry level PE 5-8 rated (or 5-6, 4-8 etc.), 3-4 piece travel rod for stickbaiting. This will be purchased for use on one three day trip. Any further use after that is a bonus, so it doesn't need to be indestructible. I'm looking for a matching reel as well. I would be willing to invest in a model in the low end of the mid-range offerings for this. But would be happy with any serviceable entry level reel. Really appreciate any advice or suggestions you have guys.
dirvin21
That's a serious rod, what are you targeting? I've got a shimano revolution travel 763 24kg not a bad rod but It's heavy a 3 piece PE 5-8 there's not really an "entry level" rod you'll need to part with some serious $$$ Reel ATC virtuous 10000 great reel on a budget
slothparade
For the reel I'd be looking at a penn slammer 6500hs or a 8500hs or a saragosa 10000. If your chasing seriously large gt, id go a slammer 10500 or a saragosa 25000
