Larkin
Gday Raiders, Me and a mate took our JetSki’s south this week to the areas around Stanwell. Plan was to jig the Hump, then go for some snapper a little further south. Plenty of baitfish on the Hump, started jigging and pulled out a fat 60cm bonito - my mate followed with a similar sized fish. Bled, gutted and put head first into ice. These larger fish make great sashimi. We didn’t want to loose the morning snapper bite, so we headed off. On the drift, where ever I found bait there were jackets too - had my lines cut off a couple of times, so moved to a gravelly area. Brought up a nice reddy. Then nothing. moved up to the flatty drift off the national park - and the fish were on! And no more green toads! Within an hour had the esky full of blue spots. Tried for some kings - could see them, plenty of large marks on the sounder, but today they just weren’t biting - not a single take. My mate managed to pull up a 50cm trag. Finished off the day with 3 crabs. Edited May 17 by Larkin

Thanks Mike, Broke my own rule of not ordering seafood out at restaurants last week and was disappointed. making my own seafood platter 15 minutes ago, bessell1955 said: It appears that had a very successful outing. No bites for a while early on, fishing an area I hadn’t fished before. Back up local had more luck finding the fish.

Yowie
Nice mixed bag there Chris. No green toads, but bloody jackets instead. Nice bag of flatties. Will have to give it a go when I return to Sydney in a week or 2.

Ocean flatties have been hard to get over the last 4 months or so. Not sure why. On this day they just kept coming up.
