Hi minnowm. The obvious answer is the one who provides the best experience (whatever criteria you use). To be fair though, maybe we should factor in a "degree of difficulty". The guide that puts you onto a metre Barramundi is probably doing a more difficult job than the one that gets you onto a 35cm Luderick in Sydney Harbour.

Maybe the best is the best value for money experience. We are more critical of the ones who bend over backwards and still produce a donut because the fish aren't playing.

I've fished with loads of guides, a good guide is way more than just the fish

An great fisherman doesn't necessarily make a great guide, the best guides I've fished with had a sixth sense on when things needed to change before we'd even said anything they're as good at reading people as the water
