Bloggsy
Just bought a second hand Airmar TM275LHW with no instructions it is being fitted to a Lowrance HDS Live 12" unit. The transducer has a split cable at the end marked high frequency which has a 5 pin black plug and low frequency 3 pin black plug. I need to know which plugs go to which sockets on rear of fish finder please. Photo's attached.

zmk1962
Hi Airmar sites: https://www.airmar.com/xref From that site ... wiring info: https://www.airmarweb.com/uploads/wiringdiagrams/91-1232.pdf It looks like Airmar is expecting a 7pin connector on the Lowrance ... your picture is showing a 9pin connector. Perhaps there is an adaptor that needs to go inbetween. Also the difference between the 3pin and 5pin Airmar cables - 5pin carries the temperature sensor. zmk1962
Ok... just checked ... the adaptor cables exist ... but they are not cheap ... https://www.google.com/search?q=airmar+7pin+to+lowrance+pin+adapter&oq=airmar+7pin+to+lowrance+9pin&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqCQgFECEYChigATIGCAAQRRg5MgkIARAhGAoYoAEyCQgCECEYChigATIJCAMQIRgKGKABMgkIBBAhGAoYoAEyCQgFECEYChigAdIBCTEzODQ4ajBqN6gCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Cheers Zoran
Bloggsy
I think that I have found the answer in the attached diagram looks like one plug goes to socket 1 and the other goes to socket 2 and the plugs do fit no problem and as can be seen not all pins are used and I assume that shared pins are joined back in the main cable. Will connect and test in the daylight.
Bloggsy
As I suspected here is the reply that I received from Airmar product support: You should have 2-9pin ports on the back of your HDS LIVE12 so you would just connect 1 to each port (1-high 1-low). And another reply from aLowrance forum: Originally Posted by Team Colibri This is a true dual channel transducer, meaning two elements in the transducer. One cable per element. Both must be used, HDS Carbon/ Live/ Pro are directly compatible and have two ports. For other units, a module like S5100 must be used.
