james Cutler
The Sun was up. Cool & breezy. Had my new 12ft Veritas rod with me to try out, with a Penn Conflict 5000 reel. Quite to start. Nice bream. Then another one. Changed to lures. Tailor (released) Then a nice flathead. My WW2 Vet arrived. I gave him a new Okuma Ceymar spin reel. His reel had seen better days. One of my Neighbours had seen my post from last week & he gave me a beach rod combo for our friend. He really appreciated the gear. Without being rude I asked him his age again, 96 & still fishing. I got it wrong last week. I left him with his new toys. 12
whiskey299
Wow 96 years old and still fishing that in itself has to be some sort of record!

james Cutler
Leant a bit more about my friend today. He left school at 16. All he wanted to do was join the Army. He is about 6ft tall. Fit. Looks about 80. Nice guy.
Green Hornet
Nice gesture once again James, you seem to be striking up new friendships wherever you go lately. Good to see you land some nice fish as well on the new rod.
