MaxiTroll
Been trying for snapper off Sydney for first time this winter and only been managing some snapper around 35-40cm but not many and have been seeing much better results from others. I have many marks from 20-50m and seem to be catching more around the 40m but still nothing big. I mainly drift with light weight and use pilchards, yakka and squid. Any help would be appreciated to help me find some bigger ones. Might be a bit of a long shot but if someone could send me some marks any where off Sydney would be much appreciated, I’m going tomorrow to see if I can get any, thanks. noelm
Don’t drift, find the edges of reef, anchor and fish there with lighter line, (around 7-8kg) small sinkers, just enough to drift to the bottom, running right to a 4/0 suicide hook.and a steady amount of cut Pilchards as burley, you don’t need a pile of burley, just a piece steadily, use Pilchards for bait. Fish very early morning, or later afternoon.
james Cutler
Before sunrise is the go. Fresh squid & 5 to 7'' plastics. Don't forget the scent. Scent works. Good luck. Edited August 6 by james Cutler
