Duffy75
Hi all, what’s the furthest anyone has caught blackfish in the Hawkesbury? I would like to try between Spencer and wiseman’s just not sure if it’s a waste of time wrong time of the year etc, I’m guessing due to the current tide changes would be the best bet. cheers
XD351
I knew a bloke that fished kangaroo point for them , he was shore based so that really limited his options I suppose- he liked the run in and towards the top of the tide iirc . Maybe the mouth of mangrove creek ?
Duffy75
I can’t see why they wouldn’t go that far up, I fish sometimes at Gunderman and laughtondale landbased, I live in western Sydney & just wasn’t sure if it was worth the effort of driving to nth beaches collect some weed and take up there definitely don’t want to if there’s no chance of the blackfish being up there. XD351
In a fishing map book I had many years ago it showed a spot up past the Berowra ferry that was supposed to be good for luderick - you needed a boat to get there though so if you can find a spot that is accessible, has a bit of depth right to the shore and somewhere you can park your car it may be worth investigating as you might just find you own little private hot spot ! Wiseman’s ferry road between wiseman’s and Spencer has a few sections where the road is close to the water and the water is a little deeper but getting parking might be a problem. Maybe take a drive out there first and take a look - I wouldn’t be surprised if you got a few luderick around the ferry !
james Cutler
If you are heading North, drive a bit further to the Swansea Chanel. Great Luderick fishing & weed. I was up there a week or so ago. Plenty of fish. Good luck.
ireallylovefishies22
There was a big school of little Luderick in Illawong Bay when I was fishing there, but i'm not sure if there would be any bigger ones.
