Yowie
My wife received a report of a metre long flattie pulled out of Conjola. I saw the photo of the fish and the fisho holding it. Caught just recently so the report states. Released so it is still swimming about somewhere.
noelm
Lots of really big Flathead in Conjola, my brother lives there and I fish it a bit, and 4-5kg fish are pretty common. I have witnessed metre fish out of there over the years.
Green Hornet
I saw the pic posted on “Trapman”, a Facebook group concentrating on fishing around the south coast. Claimed the fish was over 1 metre. 1

noelm
Not too sure how true this is, but 2 years ago I “heard” of a fish the length of the seat in a rowboat, and it had a 13” whole Mullet it is gut……now let’s be clear, killing such a fish is not everyone’s cup of tea, and I have no idea who caught it or if it “grew” after a few beers, but, who knows?

Aussie_fisher
That’s a fat flathead. Can’t imagine how many babies she must be producing

Can’t imagine how many babies she must be producing I did read somewhere that after a certain size/age they do not breed anymore, don’t know how “scientific” the information was though. But it kind of makes sense, as animals get old..er they do not reproduce.
