riveRecon
I managed to pick up a cheap second hand industrial sewing machine. Here’s my first project. I wanted a bow tarp that I could also use to cover my tent on land. The key thing was a tarp that wouldn’t drip the condensation on me in the morning. I can place my tent underneath it when needed. Works great, the lining soaks up the condensation, and then evaporates off as the sun rises and heats it up 😀. The webbing loops instead of eyelets are super great, I can put a lot of tension on them with no sign of tearing. I’ve also made it so the Bimini attachment end can adjust up or down so I can shelter completely or move it down so I can see over it when underway. The front attaches with tie downs to the bow eye. To access the bow, I just unclip one corner. I also put webbing in the seams. The sewing machine has already paid for itself based on what the canvas place wanted to charge me to make it. I have a long list of other things to make!

mrsswordfisherman
My word @riveRecon you have mastered the use of that machine. Those seams are so straight and precise!! It brings back childhood memories of my mother working away at an industrial sewing machine attached to a large table at our flat. She did outdoor sewing making stylish raincoats for a large company in Sydney. She also used that machine to make all sorts of additions to our really large tent and re-upholstering our lounge and chairs. Cant wait to see your next project
frankS
Just one small tip. When it's windy put one twist in the tie down straps and this stops them from making that annoying flapping sound. Frank
