saltrix
Dawn start at Tunks Park but didn’t do the usual inside troll as the forecast Southerly blow meant we would have to come in early, but put the hardbody divers in approaching North Head. We both got OS sized salmon on immediately and were treated to leaps and tail walking before landing them. My mate reckons they are good eating if skinned and dark meat removed but we did not try for more. Headed out to Dee Why Wide hoping for some flathead but there were a lot of spikeys making it hard to get the Marbled and Bluespot but we managed a few. The wrasse and other odds were caught when we got a bit close to the reefs. The southerly came in right on time and although we were on our way in when it hit we should have started a bit sooner as the last bit was a bit bumpy. The whales were heading south and got a bit close for comfort, they were were jumping and tail waving but a bit hard to photograph.
Yowie
A nice mixed bag of flatties, a piggie, mowie (chuck them back 😂) and a couple of big sambos. You beat the southerly for a feed.
zmk1962
Well done. M and I have been planning and deferring an overnighter for the past 7 days - and the weather just keeps getting in the way - and just now I suggested we hit the harbour heads spots - and you post this. What a champion! Some nice feeds there. Enjoy. cheers Zoran PS- while not up there with the premiums, I find AusSalmon ok on the plate if treated right and cooked right. Fillets from the next one I catch are destined for the smoker.

saltrix
That was inside North Head, It would be a good fishing spot as I have often dived along the drop off and there is lots of fish life, however it cops the southerly swell and is difficult to access via ropes etc. if you are coming by foot and hard to anchor in the rocky bottom
