XD351 Posted November 1 Posted November 1 G’day Raiders, I have finally gotten around to cobbling together a trolley/seat that I intend to use for luderick fishing from places like wharves and rock walls . Nothing special and most of the stuff to make it is available at the big green hardware store we all know and hate 🤣🤣🤣 It’s just a fold away trolley with a milk crate or similar cable tied (zip tied) to it , a piece of 12mm mdf with a rubber floor mat glued to the top . In one corner I repurposed a screw on rod holder for a boat I had laying around ( cut the closed end off) , fitted my float holder tube and made the cutouts in the lid to accommodate them . The lid has some small pieces of mdf screwed to the bottom so it locates in the milk crate and doesn’t fall off . Inside the crate is my bucket for berley and bait ,a garden trowel to shovel it out as needed ( keeps the sand off your hands ) and small cleaver to dice up the weed for berley . My bag sits on top of the lid and is held on by a bunjie strap ,the extendable net pole sits in the rod holder and the net hoop tucks in behind the bag so all i I have in my hand is my rod and I can either push or pull the trolley. Once set up ( takes seconds ) the lid becomes a seat which will be a welcome relief for my back ! Now I just need to get off my butt and take it out for a test run ! Just thought I would share this in case anyone in the future is looking at making one . 7
Little_Flatty Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Looks the goods, probably will be useful! I've been doing a bit of walking around with a bucket of sand. I can see how a trolley works. 1
XD351 Posted November 1 Author Posted November 1 It’s all about being able to move a lot of gear easily, fish in comfort ( I can’t stand for long periods as my back is buggered) If you look at some of the course fishing gear they use in the UK you will see how they have made everything pack into a trolley or barrow. So it doesn’t matter if I have to trudge 50m or 500m the only thing I’m carrying is my rod - the trolley does the rest and I now have a seat to sit on if I wish . 1
mrsswordfisherman Posted November 1 Posted November 1 This is a smart idea and thanks for sharing it with members and guests. The seat is the difference. Lots of us have buggered backs and joints! 1

The important thing is learning to live with it and use any means at our disposal to ensure it doesn’t stop us fishing - it might change the type of fishing we do but it doesn’t stop us . 1
frankS Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Pretty simple and handy. I have the more complicated version which is battery operated and carries all you would need for a days fishing, rods nets tackle boxes buckets etc and could be used as a seat. Only problem is it is NOT remote controlled so you have to steer it by hand. takes a small 4-20 amp hr battery and is speed controlled with forward and reverse (not that I have ever needed to use reverse) . It is up for sale if anyone interested. Frank 4 1
XD351 Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 Cool design ! I wouldn’t like to take on a flight of stairs with it though!
frankS Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) It wasn't designed to climb stairs. I built it for a fellow member who lives in England and visits family here in Sydney each year. mainly built to suit the Narabean area where he done most of his fishing while here in OZ. I haven't seen him now for a few years and sadly have lost contact. He was/is a Newcastle supporter hence the Newcastle emblem sticker. Frank Edited November 3 by frankS 2
