odysea_yt Posted November 3 Posted November 3 hi everyone, on my last post you guys gave me excellent advice and I wont be bringing any bait with me and only lures to cowan creek. I just wanna check, how deep are the flats? and is it dangerous to walk in like is it very soft and easy to slip? Tight lines, Odysea

slothparade Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Just watch out for rays, I stepped on one. Very lucky it decided to take off instead of stinging me.

Tight lines, Odysea I was up there a month ago, on low tide, try get to the flats at the end of coal and candle creek, can be accessed by a walking track near akuna bay, here's the Google maps link of the flats https://maps.app.goo.gl/hKFSnJ6NDUwjtnfcA There are heaps of whiting, bream and flathead around here, I found the most success using a Berkeley honeyball 38mm lure and yabbies. If possible the flats in yeoland bay are amazing but not sure if they are accessible by foot. There's also an odd abundance of squid around here as I had squid following my baits up so might be worth throwing a squid jig around the deeper bits. Good luck 🤙

juicy233 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) Idk where the track is someone told me there was one there once, are you able to get there from the road? Edited November 3 by juicy233
juicy233 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 But pretty much any bit of flats with a bit of seaweed and structure in Cowan Creek has heaps of fish so find an accessible one then catch some big dogs
