Greg Foster Posted November 8 Posted November 8 (edited) Hi I need a washer/spacer to stop my spool from wobbling it should sit under the circlip in the middle The reel is from the 70,s and is sentimental ,I cleaned it up to use in the summer my fault as I have misplaced the spacer its about 12 to 13 mm width to fit into i emailed a chap in Queensland who services and restores reels but have not heard back any ideas greatly appreciated Edited November 8 by Greg Foster Missed a word
slothparade Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Local bolt shop could probably help or local machining shop will probably be able to do something. I've had quite a few spacers/ washers made by a machine shop
zmk1962 Posted November 9 Posted November 9 If the lost washer/spacer was not keyed (flat spot in center hole) have you considered raising the washer you can see under the clip now and fitting a stainless washer underneath to fill the gap. cheers Zoran
Greg Foster Posted November 9 Author Posted November 9 Hi Zoran yes there is only one keyed washer thank goodness , will definitely hunt down a stainless washer
Greg Foster Posted November 13 Author Posted November 13 I have found a junk reel the same as mine on gumtree can anyone suggest what to clean the rubbery washes with eg dishwashing liquid then regrease or no grease this reel is from the 70,s so unsure what washer is made from thanks in advance Greg
