Bass’n days

The Cicadas have started hatching in numbers (many hundreds on the trees in the back paddock at home) and the Bass have started responding to surface poppers and lures. Smallest catch in last three sessions is 24 and a few in the high 30’s, but nothing over 40cm.

Thanks for the report @Pickles, just bought a cicada lure and it's on the way. Can't wait to hook some good bass!

Gee that's cicada paradise Bob. Don't see them so thick very often. No wonder the Bass are going crazy.

I fished with Royce today, he was up your way last week and the Bass were taking Cicada Flies. Yellow was the go to colour.

Best time of year, I feel like the hatches have come a little later than usual this year. Not sure when my next outing will be but cannot wait!

It'll be a great season for bass if the cicadas are that thick already - good to see!
