Ryder Posted November 10 Posted November 10 We headed out early this morning to the rock ledges around Bondi. The swell was down and the plan was to bag some Luderick fast and give it away before the southerly, scheduled for midday. There was plenty of weed and cabbage available,( I grabbed extra for a possible Monday session) there just weren’t fish. We packed up and headed south to Kurnell. By the time we got there the wind was already up and the ledges were pretty crowded. We fished just inside Botany Bay, the southerly hooked around head to make an annoying cross breeze, you couldn’t avoid it. After a bit of berley a few bites started but no hook ups. Finally Royce hooked and landed a fish on the weed we collected at the first spot. I got the second soon after. As the other fishers began to leave we thought about moving to the better ledge but we hadn’t seen them catch much. So following the simple rule ‘ Don’t leave fish to find fish’, we stayed put and pulled out 2 more before calling it. A challenging day that didn’t go to plan but it could have been worse. While reeling in the handle of my Avon Royal 3 came off in hand, luckily I hung on to it. Maybe a drop of Locktite before our next trip. 15
Little_Flatty Posted November 10 Posted November 10 Sounds like a tough day on the water but you managed a feed, so well done!
