Where to catchs yakkas in nowra.

Im riding my bike down to the nowra bridge for fishing hoping to catch some early jew or big flattys under the pylons but I want to catch some yakka or slimys before i head down any spots near the bridge 2-5km would be perfect

I think you will be  better off looking for live mullet.

You won’t find yakkas or slimies within your stated distance from Nowra. The closest would be yakkas from Greenwell Point.

As @XD351 said, you’d be better off with mullet. Try throwing some bread in the shallow water eddies of the river or around the mouth of Bomaderry Creek to see if there’s any about.

I should add, there’s a good fish market at Big Fresh on the corner of Moss St and the highway where you can buy some good quality, fresh bait, like mullet or garfish if you have trouble sourcing live bait.
