I loved the way the Thai guide was "coaching" you @dirvin21 and wow he mopped your brow

Its a long haul - reeling line in then it makes a run 
What was the purple stuff the guide applied to the fish's mouth ? Presume it was some magic healing potion.

Think it's some type of antiseptic healing aid

They definitely cared for the fish
