Pickles Posted November 21 Posted November 21 (edited) hi Raiders haven’t fished Botany / La Perouse area before and want to head out on the weekend with @Hads and @HadsJr, but don’t know where to get Live bait or any spots offshore and inside, especially for bait - any generalised spots help would be greatly appreciated. corro Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Pickles You'll get yakka's at the tugs (marked as A) on the map below or alternatively, at B. I'm no good at catching squid so you'll have to work that one out for yourself, but I've heard they are fairly plentiful around Bare Island (at La Perouse). 1 1
sashkello Posted November 21 Posted November 21 For squid you can go opposite "Browns Rock". Around Bare Island itself as well, but it gets crowded. 1
corro Posted November 22 Posted November 22 I should add - \iIf you don't have any luck at the tugs, there's generally schools of yakkas / slimies around the drums (the big white things floating about in the middle of the bay between Kurnell / La Perouse).

xerotao Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Becareful at tugs, you may get a warning or fine as it is a restricted zone 1
Restyle Posted November 22 Posted November 22 As what Xero said, the tugs are a restricted area but alot of people do fish them for yakkas. Go around the corner to moli point in and sit close to the wall and burley, the yakkas should turn up. Can get slimies there occasionally. I don’t have any reliable squid spots in the bay, the ones mentioned above do produce but arnt overly reliable. the nearest reliable spot I know is under cpt cook bridge between first pylon and land on the north side. Worst comes to worst and the tides high you can park your boat at the back of macs bait bar run up and get some squid. If the tides too low you can park at the jetty of the boat ramp a couple hundred meters down the road. good luck and let us know how you go! 1

Yeah… sounds stupid but there’s good sized arrows close to shore on the northern end. Caught them there land based and kayak based almost all the time at night with exceptions being when tailor are around 1
