Does the "red 40" fishing liquid actually work?

I've been looking at various fish attract liquid and still don't really know if they work. The "red 40" fishing liquid, or red worm concentrate liquid actually work to even attract any fish? My main target is carp although there is another synthetic one meant for all types of fish.
Would really appreciate to know if anyone has experience using those
