rockfisherman
Hi Raiders I havnt owned my tinny and outboard long, maybe 6 months, Ive used it 6 or 7 times. Having bought it new, im trying my best to take care of it ( or what I think is taking care of it ) After usage, I clean the outside of the motor with soapy water, then hose it off, then take the cowling off and spray the motor with inox... Is this right? or wrong? Any knowledge would be appreciated.
Geoff
Flushing the motor through with fresh water is the most important thing. Inox is the correct product to use but only needed once every 4 - 6 months Geoff

oz_brett
What you are doing is great, the inox on the motor is a good thing also spray your trailer springs & axles with it even your wheel nuts incase you need to change a tyre on the side of the road last thing you want is rusted studs and not able to get the wheel off. another tip is to squirt tap water up the inside of the trailer chassy rails from the rear of the trailer to wash out any salt water from where you launch & retreive. I started a topic a while ago with little tips like these and with help from other raiders we got some good ideas shared around. handy hints link Brett
