  1. Hi mate

The Shangri la has its own charter boat that goes out daily weather permitting. Went last October , we managed to catch 2 mahi mahi a 5kg and 8kg and lost some others. My mate just got back from there last week and went on the same boat , they got a 12kg yellow fin tuna and lost one at the boat that was estimated to be at 60 to 70 kg, they also got a 10kg Spanish Mackeral... Dont think there is any other game boats in the area unless you drive to Denaru..

  2. Just a 20 to 30 min drive further south is a place called kioloa which is an awesome place to fish, there is a boat ramp there and you dont need to go far to get some decent fish.

It has been about 5 years since my last visit but went every year for about 15 years. There is a caravan park there that you can stay at...

  3. We were out there aswell mate ended up with a simular catch, aslo didn't find the big snapper but accidently managed to hook onto a whale tho had to cut the line other wise would have been spooled....thought we had hooked onto a shark or something until the whale breached..

  4. Hi all

Yesterday had the day off and headed out to botany wide fad for some dollies, we fished most of our time along side

one other boat. Dollies were there but not in big numbers we managed to get 5 legals usung live yakkas.

Things went quite for a while then suddenly the guys next to us in there 6m trophy hooked up big time they were onto a

nice marlin :1yikes: :1yikes: :1yikes: , we sore it jump out three times what an amazing sight it was. They lost it after a 25 min battle :(

they were only using 30 pound line for dollies, it looked to be maybe a blue around 80-90 kg range.

  5. At worst that ive been the water was up to my knees. Its only a short part that is covered. Once you walk past that part then its just dry rock. But yes it can be hard to fish on crap weather. But that place is going off at the moment. Oh btw Victor, I bottom fished there with the small crab. I think i hooked onto a Groper. Not exactly sure but the angle that my rod flexed, The tip of the rod bent down but it started to bend towards my belly so im guessing thats the part where it goes back into the rocks. But my line snapped within 4 seconds of retrieval. What is the most successful way to catch these damn things. ?

Great spot down there used to fish blackhead most weekends inlaws had a caravan down there on 7 mile beach,

Once saw a bloke pull in 5 gropers in one session using small craps
