  1. would it be safe to head out there on a 4.55 quinny with 40 merc on the back? or think it would be a little far? cheers flatty slayer
  2. ive actually tryed using a golf ball cannon(same as orange cannon but smaller barrel) but really didnt work, was way to powerful and now just snapped my sinker off my line as soon as it left the chamber, leaving my bait and line on the beach next to me
  3. ow no that wasnt , i didnt even notice the black stripe on actual tail lol , the growth was just on the body side of the spinny things on tail
  4. i think its a 6 spine, caught more then one that day, the black patch near its tail was actually a parisite or growth of some kind, can email a better quality pic to you if you like

  6. went for a bit of a fish out at swansea today, got on the water about 10am and fished out around moon island for about an hour resulting in few butchers,snapper,jackets and a nice size wobby. mate was feeling a bit under the weather due to one too many last nite so made our way back in to calmer waters. was cruising along looking i the water at all the blackies darting around when to my suprise came across thousand of samon, EVERYWHERE, but no matter what lures a threw at them couldnt get there attention. finally ended up snagging a couple running low 70s and probs around 3-4 kgs on a piece of squid, got a few pics trying to post but keeps saying they too big and i not too sure how to resize any help on this would be greatly appresiated piece out flattyslayer
  7. ok cool, yer ive heard they get some very sizable GTs on popers so very keen to give that a shot and also rumours of barra in some of the creeks, cant wait
  8. hey all, was just hoping to call on this sites great span of knowledge and see if anyone here has every fished around yeppoon up near rocky, i am heading up their on the 28th and not sure what gear to take ect. i have acsess to a nice 7m boat with 225 on back so disance out isnt a real issue. not sure what gear to take up either, was thinking my daiwa saltist 30 ha on a 7ft uglystick gut buster, but currently only running 20lb braid, will this be enouth or should i wack some 50lb on it, and help, advice, rumours anything at all will be greatly appresiated, and will hopefuly beable to come home with lots of great pics to post tight lines flattyslayer
  9. hey mate, i got the same idea, last time i was up that way (about 3 weeks ago)the bloke at the tackle shop was telling me about some desent snapper comming in from around the islands just off shore if you have acsess to a boat, but i am also curious as to what else has been biting up that way and will be very intested in any responces you recieve, good luck mate

  11. hey, got out yesterday around lion island yesterday seemed pretty quiet but then ducked up brissy water near the rip bridge and picked up a couple of nice little jew, its not the hawkspey but only a 15 min cruise and well worth it if you not having any luck, their were plenty of livies around little box head too, hope this helps ya, good luck mate
  12. hey all, just looking for some advise, thinking of taking the boat up hawks nest next weekend to visit an old mate, just wondering whats the best fishing going up that way atm, boats only a 16 fter so cant head outside too far, any hints about the area or whats biting up their will be greatly appreciated thanx in advance
