  1. When I bought my last pair the bloke at my local said every single set of fishing sunnies they have has the same type of lense (they have a pretty big range).
  2. This is why there are caged swimming enclosures! Photo taken by one of my sisters friends at clontarf, right on the beach, shark was 1.5-2m
  3. smallest i have ever seen, no more than 3 inches
  4. Tiny sweep and tailor better than the hordes of leatherjackets at my local a bit further up MH!
  5. Hi everyone, Thinking of going out to try to catch some more squid on middle harbour on friday night and then using them as livebait. I figure a sliding snell rig would be the best but am not sure how to rig it, unweighted under a balloon? weighted under a balloon? weighted with no balloon? We would be looking for anything really, but a jew would be great. If anyone has any suggestions for spots, feel free to pm them to me I was thinking of going to the spit. Also worth mentioning we are lb Thanks Toikle
  6. Hey everyone, I am going to Forster for this coming weekend and was wondering if anyone could help me out on some possible land based locations near Lani's caravan park. I assume there are bream biting but what are they mostly caught on? Bait? Hardbodies? SP's?
  7. All these people trying to steal my jew bait! Time to get me some of those fancy circle hooks..
  8. Headed down to Balmoral this evening for an attempt at squidding on the super high tide. Once I got there I realised I had no idea where the weed beds were so just cast out at a squiddy looking spot near some pylons. A few casts later i felt the pulses and reeled in this little squddy! Fished for a bit longer since it was a really nice night, got 2 more pulses but dropped them (once because I freaked out as it surfaced and shot ink straight at me). Calamari tomorrow night! for.. entree..
  9. My mate Ned and I went to south curly this afternoon for a bit of a fish off the beach. Having never fished the beach with a full size surf rod before I had a lot of trouble casting and stuff but eventually I got it out. Sitting around talking suddenly my rod buckles and the drag on the 10 year old+_+_) combo goes off. I stand up and strike and my mate also gets a hit. After a bit of a fight (really new to me due to the wave action) I landed this aussie salmon, went 45cm and 1kg After that we got a few more hits but couldnt land them, will be going back soon.
  10. UPDATE: South curly breaks the drought report to come
  11. I headed out tonight for a bit of LB action at the spit with my mates, we had 4 rods between us all with different rigs, had chicken gut, prawn, squid and pilly and couldn't lose a bait for 3 hours between us! Anyone had any luck in middle harbour or that area recently? I have caught nil in like 3 weeks, going insane here..
  12. you can walk on the edges of the pool - but keep a good hold of you rod (if you find a shimano rack raider in the sand its mine haha)
