    Stress!

Yeah, I am looking into that, It does appear quite solid, but I am going to investigate it more thoroughly. i am also thinking of getting access to the hull behind where the stress cracks are to reinforce them slightly. (The cracks appear to be surface only but it couldn't hurt ) Cheers Jason

    Stress!

Stress cracks that is...have a look at the following pics, I spent the weekend getting acquainted with the old sportsman craft as asked about previously. Cut out the soft spots in the floor and am planning on either replacing as before or perhaps 2 lift up storage areas. Anyway, took everything off the transom, and it is solid, a bit soft around some bolt holes, but will treat these, the stringers are solid, but found these stress cracks in the gel coat. What do you guys think? How is the best way to treat it?

    Newbie Question/s

Yeah doing that, found 2 soft spots in the floorthat I have cut out back to good wood, and will replace. This has provided me with a good accesspoint to look at the stringers and hull etc. Looks good....so far....transor is solid, but will have a better look on the weekend. Cheers fellas for the replies. this is the beast..so far....

    Newbie Question/s

Hi everyone, I picked up an old 15 ft fibreglass runabout (Sportsman craft) as a first/project boat really cheap as a means to learn a bit about boating. It seems pretty solid and came with a 65 HP blue band mercury. A few q's: What is the correct fuel mix ratio for this motor Is there any info on these motors online I have a bit of fibreglassing to do, the trim and tilt only works in one direction and some trailer work is needed, but I am looking fiorward to the challenge. See you out there ....one day.....
