  1. Hi guys, Planning on going to WA to chase some Spanish mackerel in a few months and wanted to know if any raider's out there know of any good fishing charter's that can provide the targeted specie's(Spanish mackerel,gt's,sailfish etc)any info would be much appreciated.
  2. kudos to you sir that is definately a fish of a lifetime many congrats and respect...
  3. What a great report,i was cracking up when i heard the kid went into the bin, glad the kid's alright though....
  4. Very good comment,i most certainly agree with you macmac,i have been a member on f/r for nearly 3 year's and in that time i have gained new and insightful knowledge on certain topic's i was unsure of and have come to know that i can say MOST of the raider's here are very helpful and kind people but on the flipside you get some so called wannabe SCHOLAR'S that try policing certain issue's without having the faintest possible idea of what time of day it is(not knowing that the person that they are trying to school is well aware of the rule's and abide's by them 100 percent). Some asshole's cannot help themselve's and have to be heard no matter what they say.
  5. thanks for the comments guy's and clearing up a few issue's and querie's that some people may have had.
  6. yes i was squidding with a friend so nothing illegal there
  7. i have been going to my regular squidding spot and it has been very quiet on the squid, from averaging between 5-10(sometimes even more)before to now 1-3(sometimes even none),thought we should try somewhere else and i remembered a spot that i used to go when i had my boat which is still accesible by land which i have not been for a couple of years now and we were sure glad we did .i used to catch squid at that spot which were pretty small around the 10cm mark but they have grown in size and number's.we have been going there for 3 nights straight and on the first night i got 12,2nd night 10 and last night we got 31.
  8. nice jew's there mate congrats.
  9. Great report champ and what an amazing catch on light line, not sure if you remember we had a chat at greenwich a couple of times when u were there, seems you guy's are going pretty good with the jew's also.

  16. Hi all have been fishing quite a lot lately due to losing job so i figured what better way is there to relax and ease my mind.I have been fishing in some pretty ...... up weather rain, southerly wind but i have had some pretty good results(i got the count at around 13 jew's give or take)ranging from 1.5kg's-8kg's in the last 3 week's,i think the fishing god's have taken pity on me and rewarding me for me dedication hehehe.i have been catching more jew's than squid believe it or not(usually or should i say definately always the other way around),not quite sure what's going on there but the squid has been limited(still catching but not as much).i have been using squid and livie's and id say that most of the jew's were caught on the livie's which i think is a little unusual.Have been giving the fish out to family and friends and the freezer's still full now if only the squid come back on.Here's a couple of pic's..Plenty of jewie's around so brave the wind and rain and you shall be rewarded..
  17. hi mate the shop is on sunnyholt rd on ur way to parklea markets right next to macca's and kfc on ur right hand side.
  18. hi nathan the squid is tempting to eat but i think a jewy would be a better meal lol, ryan stopped working there about 3 months ago and went to victoria, still good blokes there though.
  19. jaykay and ribs, the best way to store ur squid to keep it nice and fresh would be to keep ur squid in glad resealable zip lock bags(coles or woolies sell them in 50 packs)i use the 18x17 size.put ur squid in the bag and before u lock it tight, squeeze out all the air and then zip lock it and store away in freezer(i find it keeps the squid much more fresh that way).im very pedantic about keeping my squid fresh and this is not a necessity and u dont have to but i turn down the setting in my freezer by about a couple of degrees(still ensure that it freezes though).finally make sure u dont mix the squid with any fresh water(dont try to rinse it down or anything before storing).
  20. thanks mate its definately my fav for now,if they work like that a second time then they will be coming with me all the time.i stocked up on them at the time so it should last me for a while,if your after them there at blacktown(fish on bait and tackle)if your local and ask for the $1 jigs on sale u cant go wrong, get them in the pink fluoro colour with luminescent eyes they work well, very well hahahaha.
  21. Long time between posts but thought id post one as its been to long, went to my local squid spot last night expecting it to be a carpark hangout like usual but no one was there and thought that this had to be a good sign as i had the whole wharf to myself(greedy haha).First cast gets snagged, lose favourite yamashita jig not a good start to the nite im thinking.tried my second fave jig but there not touching it,tried 4 other proven jigs and not a touch.thought id try these $1 jigs that were on sale at my local fishing shop as i had nothing to lose and damn did they like them or what,10 squid in 30 mins 2 of them big.success on the squid now counting down the days for the weekend to try and convert them into jews.will post pictures if successful on the weekend.tight lines guys....
