Well done mate, it is good to see everyone enjoy themselves.

Hello Groper,
They are big looking bonitos mate. May i ask you how far were you trolling from the shore?. Thanks
-
Hello Peter,
Well done as always. With the five containers of bonitos, would you think they will fill up the whole table?. It would be nice to see.
Cheers

Mate, how often do you use the bait tank?. If not, just rivet the pump to the transom, wire it, host and a portable 20 litres bucket with an inlet and outlet. If you want a good and free plastic 20 litre container just ask any restaurant.
This way all you need is to put on or remove the bucket without compromise the aesthetic of you boat. This may be the cheapest way that will serve your purpose and best of all you can do it yourself.
Cheers,

WOW, well done Mako,
Good to see PH starts firing again.

I know i sound like a goon, but wheres the container wall?
Blake,
Concrete man-made, triangular shape placed to stop the pounding waves. You can drive there and have a look at. I think it's called Prince Henry scenic drive. just google and you know what i mean.

Clem,
Try ballon, and use the wind to your advantage.

Blake, Bare island for squid, between end of the container wall and the mooring tuggers for live yellow tail. You must bring some bread for burley and sabiki to catch them.
i usually fish at the container wall where you see alot of boats with a North-east or North wind. Anchor your boat about 15-20 metres away from the wall. With a medium to large sinker, drop it down to the bottom and wind it up about a metre or two and lock up your drag. Or if water permitted, oil whaff is another place.
Because you do not know the bay that well, I suggest that you do a tour to familiarise yourself before any serious fishing.
Good luck,
-
They might be cheaper but I enjoy talking to my favorite tackle shop mate who always gives me a good deal IMO.
Always feel good knowing i helped him earn a living in AUSTRALIA.
DON`T YOU.
Hello Raiders,
I have bought Certate 4000 for $ 775, a week late it went for $ 540. What's the so i asked the guy who sold me the reel, he said " i have to lower the price to compete with sales on the internet". True
The tackle shop still there, still making plenty of money especially GFC.
I have recently bought a Shimano Stella 8000 SW brand new for $ 760 (delivered) from US
I still buy from my local tackle here and there but if it worths shopping then i will.

Hello Raiders, i caught one similar to yours about a week ago but on the Lilli Pilli side. It put up a good fight.

Hello Justin, do not use sinker because it will tip the jig downwards which looks very imbalance. You should go up in size may be # 3 -# 4 or i move to deeper water such as 5 to 10 metres.
With yellow tail and the squid sprong, one rod i use this under the float and the other i use heavier jig if the current too strong. Good luck

Mate, before you zip up the plastic bag you need to drain all the air out first then into the fridge for tomorrow.

Lilli Pilli Baths, south or south-east wind. Put on a yellow tail and a balloon, let the line goes out to the deep and hope they will take your offering. Increase your chance at first light. Good luck

Hello,
Live prawns (if you can get them) with no or little sinker.

Hello Raiders,
They provide a good fishy dinner especially in winter when there is nothing around.

Burley with bread, use sabiki, move it along with the burley. One in six will be a yellow tail.

Hello Mc Fishn and Raiders, looking at your tailors we were salivating. Went to the spot that you mentioned on Sunday and today (wed) from 4pm till 9 pm for both days. Both days went home empty handed . Luck was on your side not mine. Hope one day it could be my turn.
Cheers

Hello Raiders,
This paragraph is from the BOATING HANDBOOK. To quote" An EPIRB or Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon is a simple and effective alerting and locating device that is COMPULSORY for all VESSELS 8 METRES OR MORE in length operating more than 2 nautical miles from the shore. However, it is RECOMMENDED that all vessels venturing offshore that all vessels venturing offshore carry an EPIRB"
Page 25.
Which way you interprete it will depend on you. We always have it with us whenever we go out even pass the heads.
How much do you/& your friend(s) worth??.

What view.... LOL
Maybe what he meant is the little picture on the top left corner.

I put em into a container and sat it in an ice slurry then straight into a very cold freezer when home a few hours later.
I will be better prepared next mission.
Mike
I have found they are not as tough as the pilchards from the shop even they go straight into the fridge. They would be better if you salt them first before the fridge.

Hello everyone, i do understand with all the frustrations that you have experienced. What about me when i wasn't chasing them?.
I was fishing near the container wall for trevally when a 30-foot sport cruiser reved up from a stationary position within 5 meters from us. They tried to chase salmons. The funny thing is they reved up and stopped suddenly within 20 meters. The boat rocked so much i thought here comes Tsunami. So much so they could only see the salmons not human.

Hello every one, Dangus, luck was on your side. We went out today after dropped the kids off to school.
We saw thousand of black birds just of out of the Botany heads. There was alot of surface action. The fish was basically under and surrounding our boat.
We tried everything from metal slice, CD 11 rapala, surface popers, no takers. We stayed there for 2 hours.
Went back inside, it was very quite, caught few trevs. By this time it was 1 pm., time to go home and get ready to pick up the kids.
Hope better luck on saturday.
