headed out into the harbour this morning and got my first kingfish. caught a couple, this was my first king, not a keeper but great fun. i think ive got the bug now! measured 63cm.

thanks everyone for your help, hopefully a report coming soon. just one more question- with yakka as live bait should i use any weight? and do i need to use a float?

Hello raiders, I'm thinking of heading out next sunday for my first crack at a kingfish. First i need the bait, so i was wondering where in the bay i could get a couple of squid and a few yakka. after i have the bait, where would i have my best chance of catching a kingie? i havent fished the bay much so i dont know specific spot names, and i'm only in a 3.6 metre tinny if that helps. hello all, i have been trying to buy a fishfinder this weekend, i was looking at the eagle cuda 300 as i'm only using it on a tinnie and dont want to pay big bucks. i went to bias boating at warrick farm and they were out of stock, i have been ringing numerous tackle shops etc and they all seem to be out of stock. does anyone know of any shops in sydney area that may have them in stock? i desperately need one before i go to port macquarie next week as i intend to do some serious Blake

Hello, My mission for these holidays is to catch a jewfish, my dream is to catch a monster but it might sound a bit too ambitious for the time being, so my first step would be to catch any sized jew fish. Firstly, is there any land based spots around sydney so i can catch the bait (squid)? Secondly, where can i get my first jew, beach,rock,wharf...wherever? thanks, blake

Hello all, i'm new to this forum so i have a few questions to ask regarding the upper georges river. i was going to have my first real crack at the river this weekend but didnt know where to start ,i live close to chipping norton lakes and have never fished the area so could anyone give me advice on where to find a fish in the river. i have fished under the milperra bridge at night mainly targeting jewfish but i soon stopped after loosing most of my gear to rocks (probably trolleys etc). i have also heard there are a few EP's to be caught around the liverpool weir area, this true? any recommended lures and techniques. all help appreciated cheers, blake
