  1. G'Day Mark, CGs is my go to off my kayak. Have been reasonably successful there over the years. This is a great time of the year to chase pelagics around the Bay. My Kayak is under repairs atm. PM me. Anthony
  2. Dude, I chase Kings from my canoe in summer ,its just getting on the right time for bigger numbers real soon. You don't need necessarily need a downrigger, relatively light gear will get you by most of the time, very little chance of a close encounter with sharks, there a plenty of methods that don't involve squid and yellowtail. I live sort of close by Eastwood, I keep it real simple. PM me if you want to go out. Boccman
  3. Breeze, I dig your frustration, Dan was one the money. We need to get more proactive and remind useless authorities of the changes we experience and the current status of our fishing grounds. I was only talking to fisheries management peolpe on the phone the other day about a similar topic. I'm tired of seeing commercial fishermen pillage and plunder everything that moves in my local estuary. Throwing away dead fish that I would get fined for. They are taking everything they can get their hands on from the breeding grounds of future fish stocks. Man, my advice, write to these dickheads and let them know, I do and encourage fellow raiders to do the same. Buy out more commercial licences, (afterall our licences have to pay for something) stop commercial fishing in our estuaries. Here's the address dude: Director of Fisheries Management Anthony Hurst (Sydney metro area guy) PO Box 21 Cronulla 2250
  4. Cherrs Jeff, Glad to hear things went off down there (unfortunately after I left!), I put down a deposit on a canoe that I was talking to you about this week ,I want to get a little more mobile, paricularly on the full tides. See you there again Anthony
  5. Thanks dude, just around from the Fig Tree Bridge Paul, Recent convert to plastics, although am still doing alittle bait fishing (old habits die hard) It does take more work, retrieve, was slow and spasmodic Boccman
  6. After trolling through the pages of fishraider for some time and admiring the impressive fish fellow raiders have managed I have patiently waited my turn. Well much to my delight I think I have something to show for my efforts. This bream was caught last week in the Lane Cove River on SPs . After hammering the lure she went on a series of great runs and after some heart stopping moments was safely landed. I was stoked! Boccman
