  1. Hey mate hope this helps a little bit it's clearly too late as you fished almost a month ago but eh... hopefully it might help you out next time aye. http://www.marinews.com/exploring_details.php?exID=361 Cheers and Beers, Mick
  2. Good morning Bassboy, I do most of my fishing between easthills and Picnic Point most days, in the week. What did you want to actually target? Williams creek mouth opening holds some good flathead within abuot 2 hours each side of the turn of the low tide, you may have better luck trying Kelso beach mud banks though mate. I wade out into the mud banks 2 hours either side of the low tide, i get about chest deep in the water mate and cast right you being in a kayak puts you in a perfect position to cast right into that channel there you can see it clearly at low tide because it goes right through the weed beds, or just look where the water goes from smooth to rough, i either use the carolina rig up or the normal straight set soft plastic rig up, helps me soo much with the weed witht eh carolina rig up. the M5 bridge just up from Deepwater MotorBoat Club, also holds some great Bream, on soft plastics need to be careful of snags fish em slow i find soo often, when i cast in, do a double flick and then just let it sit on the bottomw for 5 seconds that's when i'll get the fish so i do that every time i cast now, i have got a few small taylor down at easthills train bridge in the last column on the opposite side of the river to the station. They are a lot of fun when they're on but they chew up lures, if you're willing enough to retreive some green weed from good old Kelso Creek take some with you a long with a float a long the down stream drift of the green marker to the left of kelso beach holds some great blackies on the run out tide, and so does the concrete jetty at lambeth reserve i suppose if youre going to be fishing around a jetty you may aswell be fishing from land though, the board walk at lambeth would be a great place to flick the lures from Kayak but i wouldn't suggest it on the board walk snaggy as. even without burlying up you should still be able to get up a couple of good sized blackies if patient. You reall have the advantage of being silent in your yaks so any mangrove rich spot at run in tide near the top with a deep drop off or second drop off should be great for bream. I hope all of this helps and let me know how you go. Im very interesting in fishing out of a yak and my mate and i are thinking of buying a couple but we have no idea where to start have you ever tried drifting a weightless bait behind your kayak while going up river? Any advice you cn give me on buying a yak what to buy and what else i might need that comes in handy would be greatly appreciated pm me if required Cheers, Mick
  3. i find it makes the water very murkey and i catch a lot more blackies on shelled prawn and nippers, in my personal opinion lures work a lot better in the murkey water too. I find bream and blackies can be a lot more on the bite maybe because they can't see what's above the water? and therefore are less skittish about their surroundings, this might make them come in more shallow water in a larger abundance? Either way i always go flicking after the rain because i like the murkey water it's a bit freaky to walk out deep in it sometimes though haha. c Cheers, mick.
  4. Hope this helps mate... http://www.fishraider.com.au/Invision/inde...&pid=260526
  5. Are you going to be fishing on a boat or land based?

  7. Good Job Guys!! I know what you mean IAn im only 20 and it's hard to find blokes me age that like fishin aye!
  8. TGood luck bro sounds interesting let us know how it all turns out... no real advice never fished there sorry mate haha.
  9. Like an official club plus clubhouse officially branded pattented and lots of members?
  10. I like a dark coloured softer plastic for merky water and ussually target flathead i find however that flathead will take anything really that swims passed them, i have found my bright greens orange and pinks to be the most affective on other species. Ussually prefer my Sp's to the Hb's but if it's very low light i like to use the hardbodies with a lot of action and a bit of a rattle, or i'll just use a bigger soft plastic with a rattler jig head, the loopier the action for me the better. I like a carolina rig when fishing in weed because i find it's more effective although i have found i get more taps on that then on just a straight tied soft plastic maybe they attack the sinker by mistake aye Well i hope that's enough info for you mate and at the very least post your own prefferences because i think it's an interesting topic to hear everybodies belief in what works best.
  11. Mate the best luck i have ever had on henry Lawson with the flatties in particular is walking out waste deep at the mouth of Kelso creek casting out into the channel there, it's at Kelso Beach or some call it Revesby Beach. If you're interested in practicing your technique do your double flicks and all the like but in the time i have been fishing there i have never caught anything but Flathead. So my advice would be the hell with technique and just use a very slow retreive maybe a small flick every now and again to stir up some sand. Try to resist the urge to fish from the more appealing sandy area that all the once a year fisho's fish from because you will for most of your efforts get absoulutely nothing from here. Use the muddy bank to the very right of the beach go 3 hours before the low tide and have fun be patient, maybe see you there sometime. I honestly reckon i could slow retrieve a hook in the sand and catch a flathead sometimes... Cheers Mick, Good Luck!!
  12. Cheers mate i'll have to give it a try there i like fishing at Kernell on land not too many people and not too much wind and current when it's good
  13. Spewin mate better luck next time i guess haha
  14. Cheers Guys yea persistance has been a big part of my success lately and because i know it, it just makes me fish longer and longer...
  15. All legal or some throw backs? How big was the 1 kilo? good catch none the less, plenty of fun even if undersize.
  16. Went down to Lambeth reserve on the weekend after reading a couple of the online reports from the good ole Fishraider wedsite!!! Started off my day by going down to the concrete Jetty to see how the local fisho's were going, from a distance i could already see a bloke in a fishraider hat, and said my Hello's turned out to be a nice chap by the name of Chris smith i think his name was who i have to thank for giving me a lot of advice on the area. Jetty was a little bit crowded so i thought i would give the lads fishing some space and head down to the boardwalk about 500 metres down river, heard good things about it so i thought i might try it out. 2 hours i spent down there without soo much as even a half down, lost 1 float to i don't know what but it kept going so my guess would be a fowl hooked a ray or something only had on 2 pound line on that one. I didn't even find the board walk good for jigging soft plastics lost 3 of the bastards!! excuse the language, and after 2 hours of Burley trails and wasted time in my personal opinion don't know if i'd recommend the baord walk to people who don't know the spot very well. I then decided to go back up to the concrete Jetty where i found most of the blokes fishing for the blackies had dissapeared sat down casted a line in and again nothing the bloke next to me using Green weed flies was getting hits left right and center!!! Im going to get some of them to use for myself i think. either way he left and i changed to a weed i found that isn't quite green weed it's something else and then the action finally started after a little bit of burleying up. Caught a few undersize, had 3 consecutive pulled hooks, and over the course of the weekend ended up catching 5 legal blackies. I recommend the concrete JEtty for anyone who wants to have some fun with the mullet or blackfish down there This monster i had to beach it was too heavy to pull out of the water was a massiv pain in the ass to get in but oh soo much fun
  17. I went to the green marker pole and got absoulutely nothing, for a couple of hours i moved to the concrete Jetty and the action started i will post a report later today mate. Cheers. met your mate i think his name was Chris Smith down there too.
  18. Now how did i know that it would be you who would reply Stewy, haha you alwasy seem to be at lambeth in the mornings where as i go down lately in the afternoons good advice thankyou for that i will have to let you know if i have any success. I will be fishing a good run out tide i believe this afternoo only problems may be the winds, thanks Stew Cheers. Tight Lines!
  19. Toongabbie Creek is where i go and i find it more effective to not drop it in near the ones you can see the ones on the surface ussually just pis off when you cast near them i reckon it's just like fishing for mullet really except your hook needs to be a little more sturdy. Cheers, Mick
  20. Hey Zac i live in panania near bankstown and there are a couple of good spots around my area to gather green weed there's a large creek (Kelso Creek) that leads from the Georges river on Henry Lawson Drive. Apart from that i always see cabbage growing on the rocks around Kernell and around the point at Cronulla. If you're after weed Kelso Creek is the best spot i know by far apart from my little spot i get my weed from, If you need anymore info and what not feel free to send me a pm i would be happy to try to point you in the right direction. i don't know exactly where abouts you live so i don't know if i know any good spots around near you!! Where are you trying to fish also by the way i find there is ussually weed or cabbage around at low tide where there are blackies.. Cheers and beers, MIck

  22. Going fishing soon down at Lambeth Reserve in Picnic Point planning on hitting at the blackies, I live in the area (Panania) but have only started fishing there recently, really only been down to Lambeth a couple of times. Has anybody got any pointers for fishing the luderic there that are particularly related to Lambeth reserve anything unique about Lambeth to do with Luderic or Bream i'd be happy to take advice on, as im not too familiar with this area as of yet. i had a walk around and the board walk looks bloody excellent and so does the concrete Jetty looks very snaggy. All advice welcome, Cheers and Beers Mick!!
