They are pretty good when battered or fried, they are popular in Japan and my fam loves them, does anyone know what the parasites name is? I was catching them and freaked out when they started coming out of the yakkas mouth.

The barb on the Ray would've given a nasty sting and that's why when we landed the ray I just cut line, took a pic and released! The Wharf belongs to my cousin's neighbour, its connected to his boat garage and ramp. It's pretty close to fig tree bridge but about 300 mtrs towards the city.

I've caught Bonito and Taylor at the warf when baitfish come to the beach and I've caught plenty of Bream, Trev's, Flatties but never have I seen Kings coming in, maybe there are after all the yakkas hanging around. Must have been a sight!

Hi all, First time post so please take it easy on me, hehe. Went out to my cousins warf out at hunters hill, me, a mate and two cousins had rocked up to the warf just after the high tide, armed with hawksbury prawns and pillies we start casting out our rods, about 20 mins in, my mate catches a descent whiting, so out came the bucket with a cheapo aerator and drops it in, He had christened his rod and was feeling good. 40 mins go past and nothing then, all of a sudden my rod bends and my reel ZZzzZZZ's, the line takes off but after a couple of minutes it quietens down until it gets close to the warf and then runs again...but soon after I managed to get it on the warf. It was a really nice bream, the biggest this year for me and so in it went into the bucket. About half an hour after that my cousin lands a legal flatty, everytime we go there he always lands a pretty decent flatty and so I call him flatty king. After every thing started to settle, flatty kings' medium action set up bends to an almost 90 degree angle! he runs for the rod but before he gets there the fish is gone, he is as I'm trying to cheer him up my 12' beach rod next to his does the same thing! I then chase my rod, flatty kings rod gets some action too...double hook up! He pulls up a legal flounder, but for me my fish felt huge....I'm holding my rod but the reel was going ZZzzZZ after 5 minutes of fighting the fish gets tired, I then had a window of pulling it in...I was thinking, daylight jew! it was about 5 metres from the warf when it sees my cousins net then bang! it runs again.... I manage to bring it back but this time I was starting to reel it closer to the surface, I was expecting a beautiful silver fish when up came a huge sting ray! I was ready to cut line but I thought hey! this is a fun fight, so I landed and took a photo. My cousin who pulled said it felt like it was 10kg but I reckon it was more closer to 5kg. The rest of the day consisted on some undersize snapper, tailor a descent bream and flounder from flatty king. All in all a good day on the Lane Cove River, this time next week, we'll be bleeding our tinny at the river. Cheers
