  1. It's a 4" Trudex centre pin, ideal for blackfishing. Luderick-Angler put me on to them. I now have 2. Started of with 1 but I couldn't help myself when one came up on online shop
  2. Luderick-Angler & myself hit the harbour yesterday for a good session with the blackfish. Over a couple of hours we bagged between us 11 good fish & dropped another 7. All were caught on cabbage. What also made it a top day I broke in my new Raven Steelhead float rod which I had ordered from the States & it peformed very well as a blackfish rod. It's 11'4" graphite with a cork butt & sliding rings so you can move your centre pin reel to any positon you like. Being made of graphite it's light & comfortable to hold & you don't end up with an aching arm after a long session fishing. Scrubby
  3. I found a creek not far from my place holding fresh water weed. I'll try & post a pic for comment. Fished with it last sunday & picked up 6 keeper blackies at lambeth park. cheers The Royal prawn
  4. Went down to kelso creek last sundsy to gather some weed & found not one piece laying on top, yet the sunday before there was heaps. I have been told that the council sometimes poisons it, is this true. I have talked to a few blackie fishos who fish lambeth park & surrounding areas & kelso was their main weed supply. Although i have been using a weed fly I still like to have kelso weed for burley & also as a backup if the blackes aren't going for the fly. I did manage to get some weed by using a grapplin hook & rope & throwing out into the middle of the creek & dragging the bottom. The weed I got was of very poor quality so I just used it as burly & even the fish weren't interested in it. I did manage to get one of a decent size on the weed fly but I had to work hard for a few hours to get it. If someone could put onto other spots where I can get some decent weed it would be much appreciated. Regards The Royal Prawn
  5. Hi fellow blackie fishos, Over the last few weeks i have begun to get back into fishing for blackies & would like like some advice on some good spots along the georges river. I have fished lambeth reserve off the jetty a few times with mixed success using a weed fly after burlying up first using kelso weed . I was down there last sunday fishing the start of a run out tide using my olive coloured weed fly. After a few light down touches from smaller fish my float was suddenly dragged under & shot sideways & I new I was onto something decent. I set the hook & all hell broke loose. when I finaly got the blackie to the surface it was thumper, luckly a fellow fisho had a landing net as i had forgotten mine. The fish measured 35cm. I have only just recently joined fisheraider after fishing with & talking to a member when fishing one sunday about 3 weeks ago at lambeth. To our supprise we both found out we had the same surname, Smith. His first name was Chris. If some members could put me onto some other great spots along the georges river & tides to fish would be greatly appreciated. Regards The Royal Prawn
