So the question is .........
When will we see any of these inventions
-
You can already buy the motors from ebay for about $6 delivered
from China and they work great
-
Theres a large pond behind the swimming pool / Woolworths at Egalevale / Campbelltown
that holds large carp. have seen fish pulled out of there well over 5 kilos

Hi,
If the rod holder is on a 30 degree angle,
then the hole will have to be more like an oval
shape. Get a piece of scrap ply wood or something
and do a test hole first, that way you can see if
the rod holder sits nicely in the hole.
Then you can use it as a template.
If you dont want to spend the money on a
hole saw, just mark out the hole and drill a series
of holes around the marked area and punch it out

I was thinking that would be some thing I would
like to have a go at as well
But by the end of it. I too thought it would take
to long to make and it does not cost that much to buy any way
But really enjoyed watching the video
Cheers

Wow good job, that will add some more
value to the boat

Hi,
To make the lead go further, put some off cuts of rio bar in
the centre of the mould. You can pick it up on building sites
for free
-
Clever, I like the idea !

Hi
I have a Saragosa 18000
and was intending to use it for some trolling and bottom bashing ect
I have up to $300 to spend on a rod
I was thinking of the Shimano Ocea off shore rod
Would anyone have any other suggestions that would be better for that sort of money
Thank you cheers

Spot on! it does drain out hahaha may have to find a cork to plug the inside! first timer lol noobed it
Hi, car'nt you just get a one way valve / hose conector
Or make one, a piece of conduit with a marble in it ect.
which should solve that problem

very tidy looking job but this does not circulate the water properly and water spashing in on top does little for the water on the bottom and overall water quality.
Actually the fresh water entering the tank is the first to exit. ! Whilst it may be ok for yakkas, with a good load of slimies I.think would struggle..
The real test will be how long it takes to clear out a few squid squirts...
Perhaps u can add something inside to direct the water to the bottom.
I think you might be right you know
Maybe a simple right angle elbow and a small length of pipe
pointing to the bottom
But over all a nice job anyway keep up the good work

Hi Guys
Just thought i would post some picks of my DIY esky bait tank. Might give you some ideas if you are limited for space or had similar ideas. All up this cost me about $80.
Cheers, Vince
I like it, good job

heres another photo
Hi,
You might be better off just going to a new boat sales yard
and check out how the new boats have thier set ups
as I'm sure they have invested a lot of time and money to
get it right. That way you can pick up some good ideas that
will look good in your boat and see how its done exactly
-
Google images and it will show you ........

Looks good
Did you put weep holes in it to let any water out that may get in
-
what would be the best way to install screw in bung plugs into an alloy tinny bolt screws or rivets
Hi
I have a 470 coastrunner and they have used rivets on it
Maybe if using bolts they might have a better chance of coming undone

Hey mate,
Jump on mudhole.com. Even though posting thread from the US sounds ludicrous, the cost of postage won't be much at all. Gudebrod or ProWrap will do the job nicely.
Thanks for that cheers
-
Hi
Does any one know where I can get some rod building thread
in the Sydney metro area gudebrod or speed brand as none of
the tackle shops sell it in my area Campbelltown
I would like to buy a half a dozen or so different colours
Thanks

How much did the seat cushions set you back ? I am planning something similar and keen to know in advance the sort of dollars they charge.
Thanks
Great job by the way
Hi GaryO
They cost me $60 each
They used 12mm marine ply for the base and the foam is 75mm thick
plus a thin piece of dakron on top I think he said.
plus the vinyl is for out door / marine use
The lids are 500mm x 380mm
He is at Campbelltown

Looks like a top idea im looking at doing something similar how water proof are the storage boxes like after heavy rain ?
Hi
If you wanted it to be water proof you would have to have a raised lip around the opening
Or the water would seep in Last month got caught out in gale force winds and took heeps
of spray into the boat and didnt get any water in it
But if it was left in the rain Im sure water would seep under the seat but I keep my boat
under cover when not in uses any way

Hi All,
Bought my self a 4.5M Tinnie the other day.
Looking to venture to some of the inshore reefs when the sea is not to rough.
I was thinking that I need to have some form of radio comunication...
I know Diddly squat about radios...
What do I need? I hear about 27meg and UHF?
Can I get away with some sort of hand held radio?
I did not want to spend any more then I need to?
Your Thoughts on what Ishould be looking at?
VHF are the way to go and they are only around the $250 mark new
I dont think the hand helds have a strong a signal strength as the other ones
I think that if you ever get yourself into trouble you will wish
that you would have spent the $250 I know I would the sea is very unforgiving
and can turn nasty very quickly so how much is your life worth..........up to you

Hi tuffy
I already asked the fibreglass place about the flowcoat and he said you carnt use it on epoxy resin
But said I can mix in some white or which colour tint I wanted in with the apoxy resin and paint that
on and it would do the job but I have not got enough epoxy left to finish the inside with colour
So in the end storage sections I just put some grey out door mats and left the esky part as is
Thanks for the idea anyway Cheers Sanfly

Sanfly Is the seat screwed to the floor or just loose.
A friend has something similar with velcro on the bottom. This way , he can move the seat to what ever position required & it "sticks" to the floor.
Also , it can be easily removed if required.
Geoff
Hi Geoff
Ive got black non slip rubber under each end which they use in the back of utes
you can just see it in the pics if you look close at it
It seems to do the job although havnt tested it yet
But I might put some velcro under it just to make sure as I dont want to drill holes in it
On the week end Ill put a rule bilge pump in the esky part
I picked up a brand new one today for $15 off of gumtree still in the packet
the guy never got round to using it as he sold his boat .....
Cheers Steve
