Went for a fish this arvo chasing tailor but it was a bit slow and only caught 2 so i went to another regular spot and had a flick around with some plastics. First cast a little snapper grabbed it not long after it hit the surface of the water, i think this is because of the abundance of smaller bait fish.
Second cast the plastic actually got to the bottom and not long after that a flathead had grabbed it after some small short runs the fish was easily unhooked and thrown back. After that i caught another flathead followed by a small flounder and two more flathead.
Cast the plastic in again and twitched it a few times and as the lure was sinking i saw the belly of the line move i knew that a fish had grabbed it so i struck and got stuck into a more decent fish, it was a good flathead around 60cm in length much better than the other 40cmer's fish. as i tried to lift the fish the line snapped and she gracefully swam back down.
After re-rigging i get a good hit but no take so i drop the lure back down and giggle it around some then i see a good flash of silver and my reel starts to buz i tried to stop the fish but it had other ideas and head for the pylons and after that its all over.
After re-rigging for the second time and a few cast later i caught 2 yakkas and one more flathead, the flathead was pretty small around 20cm and it was being ghosted by either a large tailor or rat kingy.
In total 2 tailor, 1 flounder, 1 snapper, 5 flathead and 2 yakkas
After that i was happy it was a great session and i got some bait for the weekend
