  1. good to hear you got some fish i went out on my yak and saw a school of what seemed to be tailor and salmon that were very fussy and would not take anything, next time though
  2. sounds like it was a nice day out, on the off chance what size real and how heavy was your line, trying to get a new set up for exactly that sort of fishing cheers max
  3. hey, seeking advice on a rood and reel combo, i own a 2-5kg Shimano T-curve and was wondering if it would take a 4000 size reel with maybe 5 or so kilo braid, i am aware that it is only a 2-5 kg rod and would this be to heavy, wanting to fish for smaller kings this summer and trying to get my act together. cheers, max

  13. was thinking of heading out to the heads tomorrow morning, heard there were schools of tailor, rats and salmon. just wondering if it is worth it? cheers max
  14. i fish around east balmain, it's a good spot but it is extra good at the moment because of all the large bait fish schools
  15. good work nathan, its that kid, we had a flick together the other day if you have any ideas of coming around balmain again send us a pm and we can go for a fish!, again nice work on the jew
  16. Went for a fish this arvo chasing tailor but it was a bit slow and only caught 2 so i went to another regular spot and had a flick around with some plastics. First cast a little snapper grabbed it not long after it hit the surface of the water, i think this is because of the abundance of smaller bait fish. Second cast the plastic actually got to the bottom and not long after that a flathead had grabbed it after some small short runs the fish was easily unhooked and thrown back. After that i caught another flathead followed by a small flounder and two more flathead. Cast the plastic in again and twitched it a few times and as the lure was sinking i saw the belly of the line move i knew that a fish had grabbed it so i struck and got stuck into a more decent fish, it was a good flathead around 60cm in length much better than the other 40cmer's fish. as i tried to lift the fish the line snapped and she gracefully swam back down. After re-rigging i get a good hit but no take so i drop the lure back down and giggle it around some then i see a good flash of silver and my reel starts to buz i tried to stop the fish but it had other ideas and head for the pylons and after that its all over. After re-rigging for the second time and a few cast later i caught 2 yakkas and one more flathead, the flathead was pretty small around 20cm and it was being ghosted by either a large tailor or rat kingy. In total 2 tailor, 1 flounder, 1 snapper, 5 flathead and 2 yakkas After that i was happy it was a great session and i got some bait for the weekend
  17. what a shame, same thing happend to me but it wasn't a 60cm one. it wouldn't be as fun if the line wasn't as light!
  18. Nice hawl mate, been chasing those fish to have havent yet managed one of those kings but i'm looking forward to it! nice work on the jew to amazing
  19. At around 7-7.30 i get a call from a mate who lives just down the hill, " hurry tailor, bait ball", with dinner still in my hand i run down the hill( as i only live 100 or so meters away) wack on a 100mm rapala minnow and start casting strait into the mess of gulls and fish i get 3-4 winds into my retrieve and i'm on. Get the fish to land and get it off the hook to quickly cast again, the fish wasn't anything special around 20 or so cm long. after 4 fish around the same length i cast again as it is slowing down and i hook up with a more decent fish after a good fun fight i pull it up the wall and onto the grass, while de hooking it the fish was around the 35- 40cm mark. with the grand total of 6 fish(all tailor) and the biggest fish being 35-40cm mark i head home and finish my dinner. all in all very fun and quite a pleasant surprise cheers Max
